The giraffe is the largest living
ruminant. It is an African even-toed, hoofed mammal. A giraffe’s height ranges
anywhere from 16-20 feet. It has distinctive coat patterns that relate to its
nine different subspecies. Since it is not native to the United States’
wildlife, the giraffe is currently classified as an exotic species.
